I fell in love over and over again

I was lifting Minmin from my bed to put him into his own cot just few minutes ago. I stopped for a moment and just stared at him. I used to hold him like that in my arms when he was much a baby. I stared at his face scrutinizing every details. From the nose and below, he got the features from me. The nose, the lips and the chin. I watched his chest moved when he inhaled and exhaled. Then my eyes moved to study his bottom. He's grown so much as both his legs extend longer than he was a baby.

Minmin physical now resembles a little boy than a baby. He is tall, definitely he didnt get the gene from the midget me. Hehe my baby has grown.

I am so melancholic tonight. Watching my baby i gave birth more than a year ago grows so much. I guess all mothers experience the same thing too. We feel like they grow too fast.

I'm not sure for others but for me motherhood came bit by bit to me. As much as i wanted to be like those moms i saw on tv or read in the novels, i struggled my way through motherhood for the first year. I experienced baby blues the first few weeks Minmin arrived. Then the struggle to breastfeed him which in the end i failed, then came the endless cycle of pumping for milk, Minmin refusal for frozen EBM so I had to depend on chilled ebm drown me into mild depression. And of course my husband was away most of the time though he tried to cheer from far but it wasnt the same to be physically close tho.hehe maybe i was being a baby. Maybe I was a baby who had another baby when i was not ready. Funny, because i thought i was 100% ready to raise a human being.hahaha

Lucky though i stay with my parents. They were there when i had my rainy days when i was so tired after work, when i was so tired with B's pending transfer, when i was tired of pumping. My family was there and with that i am truly grateful.

My life improved so much when Minmin hit 1-year-old. When i decided to stop pumping tho actually God knows how guilty i felt at that time. I know I told my husband,my parents or even in my blog how happy i was with my decision but Allah knows how much i cringed when people brought up the issue of breastfeeding, when people around me wasnt supportive of my decision. The only person who stood by was my husband although i knew in his heart he wished his son to receive the best till at least 2 years old. He never forces me and that's why I love him.

Ok back to my life improvement, when i stopped pumping once Minmin celebrated his 1st birthday I noticed the changes in me. I was not as tired as i used to be. And the most important thing is i didnt feel stress which i used to feel on daily basis FOR 1 YEAR!. The stress to fulfill the demand, the stress of not having enough rest when i woke up at night and early morning to pump and also the work at school. I only realise i was very unhappy after i stopped pumping. Because it had been my routine for a year i didnt notice it till i stopped. NOW I feel more energetic, i have extra time to rest, to catch up with my reading and also to be a mother.

So when i looked at minmin just now i had a pang of guilt because for a year i didnt really enjoy being a mother. Tho i tried but i know i didnt try enough. I didnt sit with him and played, but most of my free time (well i didnt hv free time anyway).was spent on expressing milk, school work, stole some time to nap or just being depressed. And this problem also affected my marriage a lil bit but the rough time had passed. Alhamdulillah.

I'm still improving myself. Starting to pay more attention to Minmin. Starting to teach him things, objects, language. We had our usual evening walks if it wasnt rain and now i am starting to cook for him. I am starting to feel like a true mom finally.

I am not sure what's the purpose of this post. But when i read back what i just typed i am glad i did this. My life was  chaotic this whole year. And i am going to change it. For us for minmin. Hehe

Not sure whether other moms experienced the same thing as me. I love Minmin all my heart buy i stop loving myself hence the stressful year i had. I'm starting all over again. And i hope the future will treat us better.

Random

Yesterday I went outing with MOm,lil bro and Minmin.before we headed home, we stopped for awhile at Mitc Mosque for Asar.

Just a moment before we left the mosque, a man approached my bro asking for something. My bro came to me and asked whether I brought extra diapers for Minmin. Apparently the man was asking whether we could buy from us.

Went to the car, grabbed 2 diapers from Min's bag and gave it to the man. He said they (he & the wife) accidentally left it at home. Their baby is not feeling well.

A few months ago, i was with B at Giant Mahkota Parade. B was at the cashier when I noticed a couple with with a baby in front of B.the baby was crying. Before we left to the parking lot, we bumped into the couple again at a bakery.the baby was still screaming and the mom tried to sooth him. The father was in the bakery holding an empty feeding bottle. I told B that they might be looking for hot water for the milk.

So B approached the husband who looked stunned and offered some hot water. The panic-looking father was relieved. He was indeed looking for hot water. We watched them pouring the hot water, opening the box containing the milk they had just bought and finally fed the baby. As a mom, i couldnt help but gave out a huge sigh of relief watching the baby quietly sucking the bottle. We then left after exchanging few words. God knows what happen to them till they have no milk to feed the baby.

Dont get me wrong. I'm not judging the 2 scenarios mentioned above. As a young parent to a toddler, things happened even with careful preparation. B once forgot to bring EBM when he came to fetch me from school with Minmin. And last month i brought all Min's necessities for outing BUT forgot his feeding bottle. Things happen.

That's why I usually shut off people who are quick to judge other parents. Some more they share the 'weaknesses' on Facebook and what even sadder strangers who dont even know join the party to condemn these 'weak, bad' parents. You,of all people in the world should understand the hiccups we as parents sometimes have to face. Dont be so quick to judge and worst share it on facebook. Are you waiting for tables to be turned at you?

I have to admit before i had a baby i did judge certain parents whom I saw left their baby rolling on the floor screaming or let their child running around the restaurant or let the child wore dirty shirts and not changing into a clean one. I judged. But things hv channged now that the tables might be on my side now.

There were times when Minmin refused to sit in his stroller so we just went around with him screaming while people looking or he eefused to sit still at a restaurant and started throwing everything on the floor or changed his shirts a few times in a day but still he crashed biscuits on his newly changed shirts.

Those were just tiny examples. Let's not go into breastmilk vs formula milk, pro-vaccine vs cons, to babywearing or not, co-sleep or not, organic food or not and the lists go on.

Well just a random thought. I am sad with a status of Facebook judging other parents. I hope this person will stop because parents should support parents. No one else outside this circle will understand the things we face other than us.

Have a great week ahead peeps!

End of the journey

Hello!

I've thought longggg befor9e i want to post about this and finally made my decision to share it. Before that, to all obssessed breastmilk moms, please steer away from this page before you give yourself and bad day.

I have finally decided to stop my exclusive pumping journey. I was in doubt for a few weeks now but last night after a discussion with my husband (he did not tell me what to do) i have decided to end this love-hate relationship with my pumps. I want me all for myself. I want to drink coffee everyday. I want to eat anything that crosses my mind. I want to be me again.

Unlike breastfeeding mom, ep mom like me has no emotional attachment to the process. My struggle for a year is solely to give the best for my baby and i think i am done with this. For almost a year I struggled emotionally as an ep mom. I couldnt recall any other happy moments for all these time except my milk has done good for Muhaimin. I convinced myself that I love the journey but the truth it i dont like it. But i survived! I survived and Minmin got what he deserves.hehehhe

The decision to stop has not come easy to me. I've started to give Minmin formula since Ramdhan as the production dropped pretty bad. But I only gave him at night. Then after raya, came August which was the most strressful moment for this year. I was under stress at work, tired and emotionally not stable for some reasons. So i had to continue with FM again for night feeding only.

Until last week.

I was driving to school early in the morning. I was tired and extremely sleepy and was fighting to keep my eyes open. 30mins into the journey, i think i accidentally blacked out because when i came to my senses, i was driving 70km/h and the car in front of me was about 2meters away and was stopping at a traffic light. In shock, spontaneously i steered to the left lane and i was lucky there was no car coming that way and kept driving, panting and sweating.

Minmin could have lost his mom that morning.

In school, i was thinking the whole day. I am tired with school work and the pumping was taking a toll of me. I decided to stop. Minmin now needs me more than the milk. And that was not the first time i fell asleep but it was the worst one. I have to do something.

I still pumped 3-4 times a day since but my production was very low. So I had to feed him FM during the day too. Suprisingly, i feel okay. I didnt feel stress for giving him 'the poison' like some moms would say.

So here I am. Feeling contented and happy. I am still sleepy everyday but i dont have to wake up at midnight to pump and i can enjoy a cup of coffee before I drive to school. For 2 days now, i was sober while driving to and fro school. Hehehehe

I am proud of myself to be able to survive for a year as a pumper. My initial target was until confinement, then to 6 months and now a year. I have never thought i could go this far but i did it! I did it! I did it.

In this one year i bought 5 different breastpumps. One was broken, 1 sold to SIL, 1 manual bpump, one to be used at home and the other one at work.hahah funny that I spent so much on these gadgets.hihihi

I'm laughing now. And smiling. I feel free.

Dont worry. Minmin is super healthy. He is now almost 10kg.

I hope for my next baby, i will succeed to direct feed her and do not have to go through this journey again.

Exclusive Pumping

In 10 days, Abdul Muhaimin, the person i fall in love every second of my life is turning 1. It also means I have been a pumper that long. To be honest, it was not a sweet memory for me. All the stress, the cries, the frustration, the loneliness and all negative feelings i have endured for almost a year now, I wud never suggest anyone to be a pumper. Though it sounds bad, all the negative feelings are drown by one and only positive one: Love.

Not a mushy type but i think the love i have for Minmin has kept me going till this second. My plan was to survive for after confinement only. Then i target to stop when Minmim reach 6 months old. Now i'm still pumping.hehe it's love to give the best to my baby though.

But Minmin is no longer 100% given breast milk. During fasting month, my production was bad enough that I had to give him formula. Then minmin started to have a mind on his own. For his night feeding, he would throw tantrum and sulked if the milk came late to him.

I'm already super exhausted during the day i cannot lose my night rest as well. So for night feeding, formula is the solution. He's happy and mommy's happy.

He feeds around 7 times in 24 hours. His night feeding is once or twice only. So he's still getting milk mostly from mommy.hahaha

A roller coaster ride it has been since I first heard his cry in the operation theatre but he's definitely worth it.

Actually i cant wait to have my second baby! Hahaha but not too soon. Next year InsyaAllah

Fasting and nursing

This is my first ramadhan as a mom. A nursing mom. And after 11 days I can conclude that, it's exhausting.

No wonder a pregnant/nursing mom has their own rules for fasting. I had always wondered why is there a special rule for this group. Last year, I managed to fast for 30 days despite being pregnant. and I understood why. This year, I have a deeper understanding why nursing moms are special.

Before ramadhan, I asked a colleague how is it to fast as a nursing mom. She told me she'd always feel tired at the end of the day. and i finally understood why.

As milk is made mostly from water, I'm thirsty most of the time. Even at night after buka puasa. I drank gallons of water to replenish and I could say it's still not enough. and as a nursing mom, I burn calories which leads to exhaustion. Everyday I came home feeling super tired and all i wanted to do is to lay on the bed waiting for Maghrib.

No wonder moms are super human. I hope I will be one and stop whining how tired i am.haha

Minmin 8 months old

Minmin is 8m3w old today. Let's see his progress so far

He eats more solids now compared to when he just started. More solids means less milk consumptiin.phewww for mommy

He is yet to crawl but lately i notice he is able to lift his bum already. Soon he'll crawl.

He loves pasta! Hahaha proven by the amount of pasta he ate compared to rice porridge.tee hee hee dari dalam perut dah feveret khennnn

He recognises faces. Mommy, ayah, atok, nenek and wan. He knows these people listen to his demand.

He knows who will entertain what. In the morning, he knows atok will be his buddy. In the evening, he would scream until nenek picks him up coz nenek is the buddy who will bring him out for evening stroll.and come night, no one should touch him except mommy coz he knows mommy will fly him to lala land.hahaha ayah? He FREAKIN' knows that ayah will do everything for him so he is very demanding when ayah is around

He hates toys. Ok hate is a strong word. Everytime we bought a new one for him he would play with it about 10mins and then went 'ok this is boring.now where's the remote control?'. He LOVES remote control and my glasses. Weird.

Erm...what else?

Oh he now knows to move his finger like twinkling star everytime i sang the song to him.hahaha smart boy!

Whenever someone coughed around him, this cheeky boy would mock back the sound.  Not sure how he learnt to do that though...

Weighing at 8.6kg. I think he lost a lil bit of weight after we came back from terengganu. He was down w cold and refused food for a few days.

He responds well in coversation. He would answer back in hisbown language. When i sang to him, he would make sounds which i guesses is his own way singing with me.hehe

I think that's all.there are a lot more which i think are just improvements of skills that he has acquired before

Love you Minmin!

Allah is great

After a heart broken incident where my milk supply dropped drastically, another thing happened. After we came back from Terengganu, Minmin was down with fever. Brought him to see a doctor and the doc spotted 2 ulcer in his mouth.

Because of that, Minmin refused to drink milk. Luckily he still accept food so I'm not that worried that he's hungry what.

Since we came back also i've worked hard to increase the supply. Still not producing as much as i did before but because of minmin's sickness, i managed to stock back and for now adequate for his daily needs.

I've stopped giving formula too but to avoid wastage, am gonna mix once in a while till he finishes the whole can. Susu tin mahal wooo Y.Y.

Anyhoo, my point is Allah is the greatest. I hope everything will go back to normal and Minmin will be free from ulcer.hehe

How I travel as an EP Mom

I have received a few emails regarding how I managed when travelling.hee

There's no easy way that I will have to stress upon you all mommies.

If you have just started to be a pumper, it could be quite stressful but after sometimes you will get use to it.

I think I've bought all the gadgets needed to travel.

Let's start, shall we?

1. First and foremost, the breastpump. The types of breastpump shall depend on the length of the journey, mode of transportation and conveniences.

Situation 1: Long journey by plane: Manual pump
Reason: It's mobile, quiet (in case you are seated next to strangers), and small. I use Unimom Mezzo, a manual pump and it works wonders. You dont have to be worried about connecting the tube, or get strangled by them hahaha

Situation 2: Long journey by car: Electric pump
Reason: more space, no strangers and yield more milk than manual.

Super bulky pump but I love it dearly=))
Situation 3: Short journey by car: Electric pump
I pump on the way to and back from school. It's easy. Who said we need a handsfree kit?? I do it like a pro without them. *mode bangga* hahahaha

Actually, It really depends on the situation

2. Cooler bag or cooler box
So far, I dont need any cooler box. I managed well with only Autumnz cooler bag and Autumn ice packs. I usually prepare 2 bottles with EBM and 8oz of EBM in a storage bag.Enough for 8 hours journey. Plus, I pump on the way to the destination and so far, I havent had any shortage moment. You just need to be careful with the ice packs. I used medela ice brick before but it could only hold up to 8 hours. But Autumnz ice packs are the bomb. 14 hours of journey? No problem!

That's my Autumnz cooler bag. The longest journey we went was the visit to Brunei last year, a day visit which lasted for almost 14hours. It's small but ok for me.hehe sayang cooler bag!

3. A good thermos and warmer
I would suggest  you to invest into a very good one since you will be needing it all the time. Thanks to my diligent research, I found Avent thermos which also works as a warmer. It's a bit pricy (got it for RM129 from Lelong) but I have no one to thank but myself for buying this. Before, we had a normal thermos and the problem came whenever we need to warm the milk. We had to bring along extra cup, or at one point we had to buy Maggi cup, dump the maggi just so we could use the cup to warm the milk.hehe That's why I did my research for this.hehe If you are not a fan of Avent, Tommee Tippee also has this product.

Avent thermos and a bottle of chilled EBM

This is how the thermos works. You dont have to be worried about hot water spilling all over you during bumpy ride because this was geniusly invented where  you can cover the top.teee heee

This is from Tommee Tippee. Photo courtesy of Google.

4. Storage bottle or bag
I used to travel with storage bottles but the amount of bottles that I need to handle - feeding and storage drove me crazy a lil bit. Plus they are not space friendly. After a few times, I started using storage bags instead because they dont take much space and light weight. But you have to consider the budget also la because storage bags aint cheap yo!.But..... If they can help to lift some of the stress while travelling, why not? =p

Ok, done with all the gadgets, now let's go to the tips.

1. Pump when you are on the way to your destination. It's quite a task to pump when you have actually arrived. YOU DONT HAVE to wash the parts everytime after you pump. What you can do is put them in a sealed plastic bag/ zipper bag (can get this at Daiso for RM5 for 10 sheets) and dump them in your cooler box/bag. Then, it can be used again for next session.

2. Work smart. My advise is to get a pump that is compatible to any storage bottles to make your life at peace. Why at peace?? To avoid spill. Yeap..been there done that a few moments when I tried to transfer EBM from the pump bottle to storage bottle when the car suddenly hit a bump and there goes.....2oz spilled all over my pants T____T. If you already bought one pump that isnt compatible, like yours truly here who is using Spectra S1, you can buy neck bottle adapter from Pumponthego for RM12 each.

If not, like me, I just transfer EBM into storage bags.haha wide opening and also save space to store more. =p.

3. Dont worry about running out of hot water to warm your milk. So far, in my experience, I had no problem with this because I always topped it up when we stopped for a quick rest or meal. Usually, we buy a glass of plain water for 20cents right? But, when I showed my thermos to the shop owner, they all gave the hot water for free. Mungkin niat sedekah kot untuk baby.hehehe

Just be smart ok mommies. Know when you should top up/get a new batch of hot water to warm the milk.

I hope I have answered some of your questions mommies. If not, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email =)

Broken hearted

My family and I have been on a road trip since Thursday. And since tuesday,i worked hard during the day at school for the upcoming seminar and drained so much energy.

on the road,I pumped consistently (what else would you do in a 7-hour road trip?hahahaha) but to my disappointment milk production is very low. As of now, i only have one more bottle left for the next feeding and in the next few hours we have a function where there's no way i could squeeze time and pump. Breastfeeding advocates, before you all go all crazy with all the hadiths bla bla and stupid statements, the event is my brother's solemnization.

I thought by keeping to the routine this trip wont affect the production.  It does. Because another reason for the decrease is my body is tired. Even when i pumped regularly i yielded only as much as 3oz,sometimes 2oz, 30mins of pumping. See??? My mind failed to lie to my body that i'm not tired. Boo hooo

I am a bit panic now and hoping the supermarket will open its doors early. I dont want to be in the situation where my baby is out of milk but crying for it. I really  dont. Such a heartbreaking scene to imagine.

If Allah wills, Minmin will survive this. If not, Friso Gold, be nice to mommaaa!!

Fine motor skill and email

7 months and 2 weeks, Minmin has unlocked one of his fine motor skills which is to hold bottle till the last drop of milk. Though still a bit shaky I'm proud of him haha

For those who emailed me asking about exclusive pumping, pardon for the late of reply coz i'm planning to answer it on blog for all to see. Hehe

I have a Facebook account but I dont feel comfortable sharing it. Just email me ok I'll get back to ya a.s.a.p

I is small heart

As someone who does not know me, what more my struggles everyday, your words felt like they sliced my skin little by little.

I was in the surau. Doing normal stuff I did every 3 hours since Min was born. Came this kakak. She was observing me.the she asked questions. Then I explained. Then she praised me for my effort to feed my baby.

Then i walked to the washing area to wash up. Then i heard the kakak saying something about how much I've missed for not being able to breastfeed on baby, how i missed the bonding between a mother and a baby, how the baby missed getting to know the mother's features, smells and touch.

She was telling it to anothet kakak, whispering as if she didnt want me to hear. But the surau is small and she has a speaker voice.

As usual, i know i can just bullshit the comment but again it feels like my 'disability' is being highlighted over and over again. I received enough from the people who are related by blood now strangers.

Sometimes i feel like it is so much easier to feed Min the cow's milk. When people learned that your babybis formula fed, it stops there. But if you are a pumper, it raises eyebrows.

I feel like punching the kakak's face but it's only in the mind. For what is worth, my baby is fat, chubby, healthy and happy from my own milk.

And regarding bonding between mom and baby, Min needs to be next to me, play with my face and hug me every night before he goes off to lala land.

I hate justifying because i know it shows the insecurities i feel about myself. I do

Minmin's new high chair

Minmin has reached a level where he prefers to feed himself and refuses food if his own hands are not involved in the process of bringing the food to his mouth i.e. he wants to hold the spoon. Since he's still figuring out how to coordinate the hands, you can imagine how messy and stressful mealtimes are.haha

He had successfully soiled his walker and yesterday, the stroller. The mess makes me wanna cry because some parts cant be unattached from the stroller. Still figuring out how to clean them

Anyhoo, after much thought finally I bought a new high chair for him. Went to a baby store and bought one. As someone who usually buys thing based on appearance, I almost bought an expensive high chair with very chic design. Luckily it's in the middle of the month and my pocket isnt that fat so I bought the cheapest one. Plaim white high chair.

I'm glad I did because Min's style of feeding himself includes face and body scrub with the porridge down to his thighs and feet . Then with the hands he would touch everywhere. That's how he injured his walker and stroller.

So as expexted today, he 'officiated' the high chair with a few drops of puke followed by smearing all the possible areas he could reach with his food.

But..

I still love you Minmin. Hee

Muhamin 7 months old

Tho he has started solid,he still prefers the milk. I was hopeful when people told me once he started to eat, he wud consume less milk. I was being hopeful because i tot i could cut down on pumping haha coz it's tiring. Still a mommy's boy he loves milk.haha

He babbles more now

He knows how to attract people's attention

He hates being in the house

He loves being outside for outing, walking.

He is around 9-10 kg now. Muhaimin attracts attention because he is big but his parents are small built.haha

He hates toys but loves non-toy items.

Sleep less now which gives atok headache.because he wants to be entertained and carried all the time.hehe

Aaa what else?

He loves dates porridge,hates puree.

He wants to eat everything. If he saw us eating, he would stare and had that ' feed meeehhhh' look till your heart melts eventhou you were only eating sambal belacan.

He walks a few steps in his walker now.

He rolls over on the mat effortlessly

Sometimes he refuses to sleep in his cot and wants to sleep next to mommy

He listens and giggles when someone reads him story books

He still drools like niagara falls

He knows how to reject things that he doesnt want

Waaa that's a lot.haha

Min has grown a lot since a month ago. Unfortunately his Ayah wasnt around to witness all these. So dear readers, please help to pray so that Minmin's ayah gets to transfer here as soon as possible. Only God can repay all your kindness

Good Night Muhaimin

Since we came back from our North trip,Min is down with flu. Ok he's not down still up active and cheeky. Just a mild flu. He's a bit cranky most of the time that made me kissed him even more.haha

Min was cranky in his cot just now. Due to blocked nasal. So i put him next to me on the bed and he fell asleep instantly. I was facebooking on the phone when suddenly i felt a soft touch on my cheek. I turned to the left and in the dark I caught Minmin round eyes looking at me. As if he was saying 'Mommy, it's time for bed'.

So I put away my phone, stroked his chubby cheek and slowly he drifted back to sleep. At that time dear readers, i felt the bonding of being a mother.

As much as I love Minmin, i dont always feel the connection, you know like in the movie where the moms instantly felt their children.hehe so just now was one of the rarest moments of motherhood.

I just had a few sips of coffee and i know i smelled of it. But Minmin didnt mind. He didnt even budge when i kissed him few times on the forehead. He didnt frown when i said 'i love you' right in front of his face knowing my breath smelled of coffee and ikan bawal goreng.hahha

This is my son and regardless of how i look or smell,he wants me here next to him.

There were few incidents from the past weeks where i felt the bonding..one of it was a week ago during his bedtime. He was crying, wriggling and his grandparents tried all sorts of way to calm him. I was in the shower. After i was done, quickly I entered the room and instantly, just like a snap of fingers he stopped crying and looked at me. He knew then his human cradle had arrived.miahahahaa

Another one is no matter how cranky he was at night,as long as i took him out of his cot and put him next to me,he gonna sleep like a baby. It's the smell of his mom that soothes him to sleep.

I dont have the perfect words to describe my feelings for you but Allah knows how much i love you Abdul Muhaimin ♡♡♡

Review on Spectra S1

Assalamualaikum and howdy peeps!!

School is always crazy especially during the first term - Cross country, short courses for teachers (LDP), tests for students, test questions to set, classroom to decorate, extra co-curricular activities with the students bla bla bla hence, eh forgot for me, add one more, Muhaimin hahahaha so mmy hands are always full. I want to blog so badly but i got no time.

Anyhoo, here is my honest review about Spectra S1.

Overall, 4 thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had Spectra M1, used Medela Freestyle for 3 weeks, occasionally using Unimom manual pump i just gotta say Spectra S1 is made for me.

Suctions good

Very quiet - quieter than M1 and FS. Anyway FS sounded like motorboat. The sound of S1 is similar to someone's breathing.hehehe

Could get 5oz in a short period too.

Can be used as single or double pump

Basically perfect for me

EXCEPT!

The size of course.haha

First time I met it I was like... wow radio ke aper ni.hahahah

It's not really convenient especially for travelling purpose but then I have my Unimom manual so it doesnt concern me. Just a big bulky coz I carry S1 everyday to school.hehe

S1 and M1 have the same set of breastshield and bottle.

Oh yeah, another minus point for S1 is till now I cant find any storage bottle that fits the breastshield. So it's a double work of pumping then transferring to storage bottle.

Originally, it came with only one set of breastshield but a miscommunication with the supplier and a bit of drama, she gave me another set for free.tee hee hee add with the previous M1 sets, i have 4 sets in total. hee

Small size talc for size comparison. Still cannot imagine its bulkiness?

Here, hope the next photo helps.

Bulky doncha think?hee so whenever i carried this around, it felt like I was carrying a radio for my MUET class.hahahahaha

Oh another plus point is this model comes with a night light. 2 level of brightness. Very helpful especially at night =)

That's all I think. I know this post is a bit messy but I really dont have time to properly compose it. Again as usual, any question just leave a comment or shoot me flyawaycandle@yahoo.com.

p/s Alhamdulillah, Muhaimin is back to mommy's milk again. Hopefully this continues till at least he's a year old which....5 months to go. phewwwww!

k
That's all i think. I

Mimin at 6 months old

Alhamdulillah, the baby I popped out in August is now 6 months old.hahaha

Mommy loves you Muhaimin!

Mimin has 2 teeth now.haha they started to appear 2 weeks before he turned 6 month old.

Last Saturday he started his first semi solid food.

I bought him a walker mainly because he hates lying down and prefer to be in a standing position. I know some experts believe that walker is a bad invention but let's hope for the best. It is also to ease the burden of my father. Takkan Abah nak pegang 24 hours kan? kesian pulak.hehe

He is still learning hands coordination. I made him hold objects in both hands but so far he still cant. If one hand was holding a toy, when I gave the other hand another toy, he would let go the toy in the first hand.hee

hmm....he sometimes knew how to attract attention. By making weird sounds.haha

He still enjoys his bath.

He is now able to roll a few times on the floor.hahaha he couldnt move forward so he rolled when he wanted something far.hahaha

He has outgrown all 80% of his 3mo clothes

He is 8.3kg, 83cm tall

emm....

aaaa

what else?

Glad I could help

Whenever I received an email or PM on FB or Whatsapp asking about breastpump or how to breastpumping or anything related to baby, I got super excited and kinda....touched. I cant shed the thought of a being a handicapped mom due to inability to directly feed Muhaimin (I know I exaggerated, this is a mommy's guilt). So when people, strangers asking me for advice, it lifts up the spirit, and make me feel...less handicapped.hehe

So keep the emails and private messages coming because it made my day. Super glad that I could help. Better, when I could help mothers who experience the same thing like me - cannot direct feed our babies. I'm not alone. We are not alone.

Anyhoo, Min is back to breastmilk 100% now since he finished one whole packet of Friso less in 2 weeks. I hope this time Min can get the best as long as possible but again I've learnt my lesson, anything could happen that would affect the production but I have faith. Somehow I am glad that I'm tested several times in this journey because it helps to understand moms who have the same obstacles.

It's easy for people to judge moms who dont breastfeed. I'm referring to moms who tried but the result was disappointing..Not who choose not to. Go mommies go! Try harder and leave it to God =)

Min is looking more like his Ayah. Bila orang tau Ayah dia orang mana, mesti cakap 'ooo patutla takde muka melayu' haha Melanau blood wins!

5 months 3 weeks

I just have to blog about this for the sake of memory.hehe

5 months 3 weeks, Min is teething and one tooth has appeared on his lower gum, so obvious one!

Tried to take at least one photo but whenever he saw the phone he closed his mouth. When I tried to force it using my finger, he took it and attempted to suck =___='

This Saturday will be the day Min gonna taste solid food.yiiihaaaaa after 6 months living with milk, formula milk and his bath water (=.=) hahaha

now now this excited mom is confused which food to start first. Puree or porridge?hmm

Breastpumping journey so far

2 weeks ago I was so stressed when my production dropped. Last week, I had to reintroduce formula milk again to Min, in case I had to go for the course. At first, he refused and cried. A few attempts, he drank like a dream.

My heart shattered of course because it wasnt my milk. But I put aside all the negative thoughts and tried to console myself that this is another form of rezeki. At least Min's condition is better than those babies in Africa or Syria.

Allah definitely has His own ways.

The course was cancelled.

And my production suddenly surged till I managed to replace all my stocks. I am producing more than what Min needs in a day. MasyaAllah.

I guess the incident is a way Allah wanted to test me that in a flick of seconds, he CAN take away what belongs to him.

Tersedar jugak aku because honestly I had my proud moment for being able to feed my baby. Allah uji sikit je.terus kelam kabut hidup aku.

Insaf dan insyaAllah, aku akan lebih bersyukur. Susu tin yang aku dah bukak tu aku akan habiskan. Means, I will still feed Min the milk. Avoid wastage. AKu takut rezeki kena tarik lagi. I feed him that only at night. and again, I learned one thing.

I've been feeding Min Friso milk twice in a night. Not even a week, Min has drank half the package.8 oz a day, per week

Based on rough calculation, if I were to stop breastmilk and gave him only Friso, the budget would be around RM300++ per month. kau! Min kuat minum susu dowh.Disebabkan itu, menguatkan semangat aku untuk terus mengepam.hoho InsyaAllah.

Aku dalam proses belajar untuk persetankan ibu-ibu taksub susu ni. So far, I left all the breastfeeding groups, unfollowed moms who give out tips on breastfeeding and a few friends. Kalau kat depan mata, I walked away when they started talking about breastfeeding.I dont want to be negative. I love Abdul Muhaimin so much, there's no doubt. I dont want to look down on myself again. Because in the end, those people cannot love my baby like I do.

Pipi boyot mommy =)
