of maternity dress

I'm on the hunt for a good dress, that can function as normal dress and maternity dress. Since I've outgrown some of my maternity blouses (pffttt..how is that even possible?), i need replacement. Actually it was my own fault for buying S/M size where now I think my belly could grow up to XL =__='. So here are some of the blouses/dresses that I can fit no more.

Real maternity dress or blouses are expensive. Usually I opted for plus size blouses or just wore my mom's blouses.muehehe But I need something that can stretch well and after delivery can still be worn. So I found one type that I like. Fishtail blouses.

It's made from stretchable cotton, and cheap too.

Taken from Here

Now speaking of pants, I think I should stop wearing pants or jeans. Because I find that they made my evil red lines becomes worst. At the beginning I just had like few lines that were hardly visible. Since the starting of school holidays, I wore jeans daily and since then the lines decided to multiply. uwaaaaaaaaaaaa so i nangis seeing the belly looks liddat now.huhu takpe. Proof of my battle.hehe

So when you are in the 3rd semester, you should hate pants ok. Let's wear skirt or dresses only.muahaha

Actually I have no valid point for this blog. I'm just bored. B is sleeping for he is working night shift tonight. I dont do afternoon nap. My eyes are super wide. I disturbed B few times but his eyes remained shut =___=

I'm bored!

Maternity Pillow

Currently I'm in Bintulu. For a week. Please expect more updates because I know I'd be super bored staying in the hotel room while B is out at work.haha If we had a house, at least I could play housewife. But we dont.huhu

At the final week of 2nd trimester (some websites claim this week is the beginning of the 3rd trimester), I am starting to feel very big, tired and sore. Just last night, I couldnt sleep because this hotel only provides 2 pillows (one for me and B). No extra pillow to support my bulging arch. Plus the pillow is too soft that when I laid on it it was as if I had  no pillow at all =__='. It's bad for pregnant body okay. Anyhoo, this is a budget hotel, so everything is oso budget even pillow.haha

Luckily I have the greatest husband in the world. He piled few clothes on the bed and put the pillow on top of the piles. He folded kain pelikat and his coverall to support my overflowing (yea exaggerate much?) belly. At least I could slept few hours last night. I still woke up several times to pee, massage leg cramps or just to toss and turn.

Today I'm going to buy an extra pillow. A cheap one. Just enough to support my belly.

Anyway, I finally bought a maternity pillow after much consideration.hehehe I tot I could do with just fortress around me but it didnt. So I invented a sum of money into this maternity hoping it could be my savior at night.huhi Trust me, when you are pregnant, your husband is no longer comfy to hug.hahahahah

I bought this pillow from this Kakak i stumbled upon while surveying on the internet. She offers great price, cheaper than the ones sold at any maternity shops and I love the design.hehehe

If you are pregnant, even not pregnant oso can, and want this weird looking pillow, visit here. The Kakak is sooooo friendly =)

The price ranged from RM165- RM245 depending on the material used.

I have yet to try this pillow so cannot say much la. Will blog about this once I get my hands on it okey =)

New Book Rack

Since young, I love to buy books. I think I'm the only one among my siblings. And this has gotten worst since I started earning my own penny. There's definitely no problem in buying books. But the storage. I bought books sometimes on impulse (yea just like during Big Bad Wolf) and I have never thought about where to put them.muehehehe

Proudly took this picture from the book fair and left the stack for weeks liddat. Which obviously made mom super annoyed.

I guess Mom got fed up seeing my books in my bro's room, in the guest room, in the living hall, in the hall and even in the kitchen. Last Thursday, she did something that I should have done instead of her. She bought a new book rack!

I never knew I had these much books lying around. No wonder Mom couldnt take it anymore.hahaha she took the effort assembling the books and rearranging them nicely. Yerppp mom did that and I sat watching.hahaha bad bad daughter =___='

Worry not Mom. When I have my own house, I will transfer all these books into my own.hehehehe just for the moment, bear wimme. And please expect more books coming in for my baby too.haha

Happy Birthday Husbenggggg!

I'm pretty good at ngerepak. But not good with romantic words. Forgive me B =)

Today, 24th May 2013 is my beloved husband's birthday!!!!!!!!!!

Happy venturing into 26 years old. Wait for me, I'll join the club 10 days from now.hehehe

I have no fancy gifts, no romantic words, no delicious cakes/meals to offer.

But I love you dearly my husband. You are never missed in my prayers, my thoughts, my ideas.

Esok kita jumpa!!! yeayyyy!!!

Hormones

Hormonal changes are inevitable when you are pregnant. When I was still a noob about pregnancy,  I thought hormones only made the pregnant mommies emotional. They do more than that.

Mood swing? - Definitely

Darkened skin - *nangis*

Nesting - this is good

Overwhelming tiredness, bloatedness (the normal symptoms) - bearable

There are many more to add but today I just found a new one: Rashes

I woke up this morning, feeling terribly itchy around belly area. It has always been itchy but soft rub or scratch would do the trick. But this morning, it was just..... Putting the 'protect-the-beauty-of-my-belly-notion' I scratched like a mad mommy. I almost cried ok because of the itchiness. Have never experienced anything like that before. So after shower, I checked my belly using the mirror. There are many red dots and rashes on the belly even I was shocked. They werent there last night! I googled about rashes during pregnancy. Guess what? The culprit could be the hormones. Pfffttttttttt!!!

What else you got for me hormones???

Here are the lists of common rashes during pregnancy. I dont know which one is mine but luckily, I have another check-up with O&G scheduled next week. I need to do something. =(

Wanted to put belly with rashes but the picture makes my belly itchy.hahaha so put a cute baby picture here. If B's genes are dominant, we would have this baby. If my genes are dominant, we will have jawa baby.muehehehe

Watermelon and Pregnant Mommies

Today someone shared the benefits of watermelon for pregnant mommies. So I googled about it and found this hadith from Rasulullah S.A.W

"None of your women who are pregnant and eat of watermelon will fail to produce offspring who are good in countenance and good in character."
 -Rasullullah S.A.W-

i never heard this hadith before so it made me so ecstatic. Most pregnant mommies I know love watermelon. Maybe because our body is heaty, the weather is hot and humid, this juicy fruit gives us the pleasure of cooling especially when it is freshly taken from the fridge.muehehehe

So i googled some more for its benefits. Here it goes:

More than just a pretty pink fruit, juicy watermelon can soothe morning sickness, help you stay hydrated and build a healthy baby.

Once considered just a juicy treat with limited culinary range and nutritional value, watermelon actually is a versatile and very healthful fruit. On a salad plate, it's a succulent stand-in for tomatoes. It adds crunch and color to entrees. It makes a sweet background for smoothies and sorbets. And it freshens up a tangy barbecue sauce.

If you're pregnant, the benefits are even more delicious. Watermelon eases heartburn and reduces swelling; its high water content (92 percent) and fruit sugars alleviate morning sickness and dehydration; and the minerals it contains can help prevent third-trimester muscle cramps. Ounce for ounce, watermelon is richer than tomatoes in lycopene, an antioxidant that protects against cancer and cardiovascular disease, boosts the body's immunity to infections and naturally raises the skin's SPF, according to Steven Pratt, M.D., author of SuperFoods Rx (HarperCollins).

Even better news for pregnant women: A study in the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics found that daily lycopene supplements reduced the incidence of preeclampsia by 50 percent. Test subjects were given 4 milligrams of lycopene; a single serving of watermelon can have triple that amount. What's more, scientists have discovered that watermelon is packed with vitamins A, C and B6, as well as potassium and magnesium. These nutrients are important for the development of your baby's vision, brain, nervous and immune systems, and more. For you, potassium regulates water balance in the blood and body tissues during pregnancy. And you get all these benefits for less than 50 calories per cup.

Taken from here

Pregnant mommies prone to get constipated. So one way to avoid it by eating fruits, and watermelon sure helps! Alhamdulillah, it works for me =))) Go try!

Book Review: Dreams of Joy by Lisa See

Untuk perkongsian NILAM bulan ini. =D

I managed to finish one novel in a week. Phewwww~~ It's not easy to steal time to read but I managed. Proud!

Title: Dreams of Joy
Author: Lisa See (this is the first novel from this writer that I read)

What I love about the story:

Kid you not, this novel is hard to put down. I had to keep reading until my eyes were tired or I had other things to do. What fascinated me the most is how Lisa See wrote so much detail about the communist in China around mid 50s. I know China had it's revolution age around that period but I have never read anything so vivid and real about the situation at the time. How much brainwash the people received everyday, how hard and dirt poor their lives were. Haishhh I am no good with bood review but the book is a must read!

I bought 3 of See's novels from BBW. Now, onto the next book shall we??

Size Does Matter

At the beginning of my pregnancy, some pregnant moms or ex-pregnant moms told me I would have no problem with size. Particularly finding the right size for my tummy. They said I could still fit 'M' size for any maternity clothing because I am petite. I 100% believed them but today, I wanna cry already.

Remember when I bought my maternity jeans few months back? I've outgrown one of them T_______T. Momma is no happy coz it's the most expensive jeans ever in my life but got to wore it about 2 months only. I bought M size, believing that I'm petite. =___='

Padan muka kauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Just like symptoms, the growth rate of a pregnant mother differs than one another. So be wise and dont be a fool like me. Not just jeans, some of my maternity blouse are going to bid goodbye pretty soon. And I'm not even entering 3rd semester.

Again, padan muka kauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu makan tak ingat dunia

Mana aku tak stress tengok perut comel Vivy? =(

Wore this blouse again yesterday, and it was tight. Got to wear it twice only.

Baby, Mommy hopes that it's just mommy who's growing. Please grow at normal rate okay. If you see pasta, or chocolate or ice cream for any meal, mommy allows you to taste a lil bit only. Discard the rest. It's not good for you. hehehehe

Current lifestyle

Unlike before, I drag going home after work. I woke up feeling soo excited to go to school, a place where I can go crazy, I can scream, I can laugh, I can forget about personal problems. Never thought I would come to this stage but work keeps me sane and happy.

Lately I've been finding reason to go home later than usual. I dont want to go home before 5pm. I went to malls, friends' house or stayed back doing work in the office. Why oh why?

The worst feeling one could ever feel is lonely. I'm lonely. That's a fact. I live with my parents. But still... Let's not talk about being ungrateful shall we?

Today my back hurts like hell. When I walked, I noticed I would sway to left side and felt dizzy. My calves need a massage. I want to complain, I want to cry. I did actually. But I dont feel any better. Being alone in this situation hurts. Especially when the hormones join in the fun. Seriously.

Nubian Goat's Milk (Melaka)

Experienced mothers told me to drink goat's milk to avoid baby from getting jaundice. Some said it's good for pregnant mom. Since I dont take supplements (because my doctor believes in all natural things =.=) I wanted to give it a try.

I have been looking for goat's milk since last week. I guess it's no favorite among general population coz I almost gave up searching. Some told me where to get fresh goat's milk but I dont want to consume anything unpasteurized. I've gone to Tesco, Mydin and Giant but went home empty handed (ok tipu..I never left any mall empty handed.miahahahaa)

Today I went to Jusco. Found it!!!hahaha it's no miracle actually. I've googled about it and the source told to go to Jusco. It's Nubian Goat's Milk! The reviews were good so I wanted to give it a try. I dont like milk. So I bought only one bottle just to test the water gituuuhhhh!!! One 200ml bottle costs RM5. @.@

The packaging is sooo cute!

So on the way home I drank half of the bottle. The taste.....taste like goat laaa.... Not bad actually just....it's goat.hahaha

Few minutes later I started to feel a whirlwind in my belly. I thought I was going to throw up. I didnt.

But....as I type now, heartburn is here. *cries*

Maybe I need to give it a second try. Just to let my stomach and the milk to know each other better.hehehehe

Next time la okeh!

So if you are in Melaka, searching for pasteurized goat's milk, head to Jusco peeps!

Tips to a clean toenails!

Before I got knocked up, it was my monthly routine to soak my feet and clean them at home. But with the growing belly, it's impossible for me to bend. T____T

I've always wanted to go for a pedicure. I feel my feet look haggard, dirty and dry but I cant find the time, don't want to go alone or just no budget. Last Saturday someone shared a tip on Facebook, home made solution to clean the toenails.

The formula is kinda simple. just add:

1 portion of Listerine (I was using this blue flavor)

+

One portion of Vinegar (stole from mom's pantry cabinet)

+

A basin of warm water (the one that can fit both feet)

 Andddddd soak for 15-20 minutes

After that, if you are not pregnant and can bend normally, use old toothbrush or pumice stone and scrub scrub scrub. I used toothbrush to scrub (berpeloh-peloh mak hokay tring to reach the nail area =__=')

and the result.... tadaaaaa!!!!

Ok I googled. Uploaded own feet but then I feel gross so the picture above almost 95% similar to my feet.hahahaha

Caution: DO NOT GOOGLE 'FEET'. Could be the reason to puke . erghhhhhh

Happy trying!!!!

Big Bad Wolf - MITC Melaka 2013 #2

So as I mentioned earlier, I went straight to MITC Melaka after school ended at 12pm. Honestly speaking, I never experienced that kind of rush to get something. I was so ecstatic so excited because Big Bad Wolf was something I could only admire before but now they are here!

The traffic was quite congested (it was Friday), I arrived around 1pm. It was so quiet.haha not many people were around which means Yippeee for me! If you are looking for ATM Machine, there's only one in the building and that's CIMB. I wanted to withdraw my saving from Tabung Haji but only through Maybank. So I took out all the balance left in account and not satisfied (did i mention I'm super broke?haha). So I told myself, neh mind, go see around first and if I feel like I'd buy more, I'd go to Maybank branch near Mydin.

For you information, I went there twice.haha the first round I didnt take any picture. I was too indulged looking at all the books. The first round I spent about 45 mins when I started to feel dizzy and then realised I had not taken my lunch. Spent whatever moolah in my wallet, left the hall and looked for something to eat. At first I wanted to go back but then, this thing doesnt happen often so I went to Mydin, ate asam pedas ikan pari, withdrew more money from Maybank and headed back to the exhibition hall. This time the place had more people.heheh

When I entered the hall about 2.15pm.

For a first timer like me, I didnt know that I could bring own bags, carrier, trolley etc. They provide box for you to fill with books but as a pregnant mommy, how much weight could I carry rightttt???. This second round, I managed to get a trolley that was provided by the management. I saw some people brought their luggage.Never thought of that. muehehehehe

Bought this book when it was first published costing RM62 if I'm not mistaken. It was only RM8 there. sob sob sob. Thick cover summore okay!

Some of the tables had books arranged liddis. I felt it wasnt maternity friendly. I had one book I wanted to check out but it's in the middle. I couldnt reach it and that's why I accidentally banged my belly so many times against the table trying to reach it T___T in the end it's just look so funny so I walked away. tsskkkk

Was queuing at the cashier around 4.30 pm and took this picture. More visitors definitely. =)

It was a great experience for me. I have never spent so much for books in one time and bought that many.hehe I'm satisfied. I'm not sure when I'll start reading all of them but I guess confinement time is the best right?muehehehehehe So what did I catch yesterday?

Bought for myself, B, Baby A, Anis the cousin and her baby.hehe

Frigde magnet crazy, bought these 3 special BBW Melaka edition for RM10 onleyhhh. 1 for me, B and Anis =)

So if you are still torn between going or not going, please go. The books are sooo cheap like a novel usually costs around RM32 but I got 4 novels with the price at BBW. The cheapest one I saw was RM3 the most expensive could go around RM25- rm45 depending on the genre.
The books are divided into these categories:
  1. General
  2. Romance
  3. Reference
  4. Sci-fic
  5. Young adult
  6. Children non-fiction
  7. Children activity books
  8. Comics
  9. Humour
  10. Beauty
  11. Hobbies
  12. Arts
  13. Best sellers
  14. Cooking
  15. aaaaa I cant remember anymoreeeeeee
There were 6 cashier counters for your convenience, the persons on duty were very friendly and very organized fair.hehe

Hope my post helps to toss the coin for you. Happy Shopping!!!

Clumsiness During Pregnancy

I consider myself a clumsy person. I drop things, I trip and fell for no reason, I always bang my feet while walking out the door and have pieces of food on my clothes after every meal. Those are okay when you are NOT pregnant!

I just learned (about a few minutes ago) that clumsiness is one of pregnancy symptoms (=___=' why must everything be a symptom??). This is taken from BabyCenter:
You're carrying more weight than you're used to, and your center of gravity shifts as your uterus grows. Add to that hormonal changes that cause ligaments in your pelvis, your knees, and other joints to loosen, and it's no surprise that your posture changes and your sense of balance worsens. Loss of abdominal strength and swelling in your feet and legs may also play a role.
Anyhoo, it's extremely dangerous and risky to have this symptom and I'm worried. Because lately, since my center of gravity has shifted and weight increase and belly expanding, I have had few incidents. I experienced near-slip situation on daily basis. The fact that my school compound isnt safe (to date since I started my service, 3 teachers fell and injured their joints). I pray pray pray that the incident will never come to me.It did once last year and my knee was pretty damaged (wah kau damaged) hahaa and torn my baju kurung skirt.

Ok digression.

Not only that, I always have this - accidentally bang my belly with a table, chair, door, car door =___=. Since the skin is super tight and belly button is going to pop out anytime soon, it hurts as hell okay! Just today, I was so excited at the Big Bad Wolf fair I banged against the table sooo many times i wanna cry d. I swear! I dunno the word in English but in BM, Ngilu! It's like I forgot that the belly was even there!

I guess I'm still not familiar having this bulging tummy. And since it's a common symptom, phew~~!!

This is my 8-months pregnant belly ok, according to my colleague.haha Not even 6 *sigh*

Pretty Much like Mom

I'm entering the 6 months phase, almost there but norchet. So far in this journey, I've heard Mom said the familiar thing - 'Mak dulu pun macam kau jugak' - I had the same things like you. She was talking about her pregnancy journey. Now let's list em down shall we?

These were the symptoms she had/ had not while ballooning the 5 of us.
  • No morning sickness - Checked!
  •
  • Low HB - Checked!
  •
  • Big belly starting from the early stage - Checked!
  •
  • Active - Checked!
  •
  • Stretch mark - Checked! Wait say what?????
I;ve been religiously applying bio oil since the beginning of my pregnancy because of what mom told me. She had stretch mark and not only that, they bled! That's why I've been a bit psycho about having it, not scared of the scar but the part it bleeds *shivers*. Mom said hers was quite painful and crazy itchy. Especially during hot weather.

Last Sunday, the lower part of my belly was super itchy. Extremely that I went to check whether it's because of the skin stretching or I got bitten by a bug. I used a small mirror to check and guess what? It's there, the red narrow band staring back at me T___T .

The weather is pretty humid these days and guys, I could go crazy with the itchiness. I want to cry, I want to scratch but I'm scared it will bleed. So I have to rub softly but it's still there, the itchiness!!

Pray for me guys I wont bleed. I cant imagine to have itchy, bleeding and sweating belly at the same time. woooooo~~

Wearing Haley from Poplook. It's not meant for maternity but it did for me.haha me at 23 weeks. Perut mak besaq ok! My other colleague can still fit in her baju kurung T__T

Hopefully I will have another of Mom's style -  Normal delivery =)))

Reminisce

I was typing work-related stuff on Abah's PC when suddenly it lagged. While waiting for the programme to un-lag, I browsed through the many folders Abah has in the PC. And I folder caught me attention. The folder contains the pictures of my wedding, and the reception at B's side, Sibu. Photos that all these while, I have never known they existed.hehe

Our Bermukun Night =))

Gituuuhhhhhhhhhhh kedua-dua bondaku. First time in my life I watched my mom dancing.haha

Masa ni nak ngamok dah sebab B sort of M.I.A sebab beliau tanak joget =__=

Yeahhhhhh berjaya.. perkara di tunggu-tunggu oleh para hadirin.haha
